“I have made it my life’s work to unravel the mystery of a woman. The journey getting there is magnificent.”- Haider Ackermann. At the age of thirteen, he was deeply impressed when he discovered the work of Yves Saint Laurent. He began to learn about styling at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1994. After an internship with John Galliano, he became assistant to his professor, the designer Wim Neels. In 2001, he launched his eponymous brand with the support of Raf Simons. Haider Ackermann considers himself a nomad and says that he is not from anywhere. His visions of the world are reflected in the subtle exoticism of his creations, all of which exude a certain sensuality.
