Between Aesthetics and Artistic Singularities, Designers Are Artists and Fashion Becomes a Work of Art
On the 31st of March DTTH Gallery and serie ||| NOIRE presented a private viewing in honor of our permanent collaboration. Amidst works of art selected by Eric Delecourt (Curator and founder of DTTH Gallery) and Olivier and Emmanuelle Axer (Founders and buyers for the serie ||| NOIRE collections), and with the wish to share our common passions for fashion and art with our clientele and friends, we came together for a very convivial occasion with our friends at Family Name APM001, and with Pipin Kitchen providing the catering. It was a very successful evening! Among the works currently on display at serie ||| NOIRE : Wayne Danza’s ultra-realist drawings, Aka Mr Grey’s felt portraits and photographs of Brooklyn, the fashion photography of Joseph Chiaramonte and Gaëtan Caputo’s superheroes.
The Collection And Staging of Objects For Telling Our Stories
The exhibition of the works of DTTH Gallery was an obvious move for us. We share Eric Delecourt’s passion for contemporary art and it was natural that his works should come alive in our store, with its concept of merging fashion and rock.
Our concept store became a veritable gallery where photographs, paintings, clothes and shoes were showcased together, each object becoming a work of art in its own right, drawing the appreciative eye of the visitor, whether it was a piece of art or clothing.
The DTTH Gallery Stand Voted the Best Stand Up Art 2016
“I came from a completely different profession – I previously worked in celebrity security […] I discovered a passion for art when I worked for people who had extraordinary collections, like Dennis Hopper,” says Eric. This charismatic actor, director, poet, painter and photographer who, as he delicately put it, owns one of the finest collections of pop art that Eric had ever seen: Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol in association with members of the Velvet Underground, Leo Castelli. Eric began using his free time to learn about art and the artists on the secondary market, established yet affordable artists who already had official listings. Eric went on to establish his Factory store, and in 2015 founded DTTH Gallery, which in March 2016 was voted the Best Stand Up Art 2016.
