The BALMAIN women's Spring-Summer 2022 collection marks Olivier Rousteing's tenth anniversary as Artistic Director for the Parisian brand. This is an anniversary collection, but one that was also inspired by an accident that left the designer with severe burns. His painful experience has been transcribed into his collection in the form of lines, weaving and strips. The volumes are extra large, the dresses are chrysalises and the oversized jackets are peignoir-inspired. Gold is used sparingly as accents on a sober palette, and the Balmain monogram can be seen throughout the pieces and accessories.
