Rick Owens’ Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled "Hollywood", pays tribute to the neighborhood that offered him refuge and a sense of belonging, away from the narrow-mindedness of his hometown, Porterville. Celebrating individuality and outsider culture, Owens brought together 200 street-cast students to embody his vision, reinforcing his message of inclusivity. The collection’s visual language drew inspiration from the golden age of Hollywood, notably referencing the elaborate costumes of Cecil B. DeMille’s 1934 film Cleopatra, blending historical grandeur with Owens’ signature avant-garde aesthetic.
Rick Owens or Richard Saturnino Owens is an American designer, born in the 1960s in California. He created his House in 1994 then moved to Paris in 2003. Rick Owens is known for having made the "glunge" style (contraction of glamor and grunge) his trademark and has shaped himself from a rock'n'roll universe in margin of trends. He developed an image of dark, underground, almost hardcore fashion. Even today he perpetuates the minimalist “antifashion” movement. Its volumes are ample but structured. His signature pieces are leather jackets, threadbare jersey t-shirts and harem pants with irregular hems.
