Escentric Molecules was created by German perfumer Geza Schoen. The Berlin-born creator breaks the rules of classical perfumery by using synthetic raw materials and distilling the top, middle and bottom notes into a single note. He isolated an extraordinary scent molecule called "Iso E super" (a quasi-addictive molecule found in pheromones), and made it the sole component of the brand's first fragrance, which he launched with Jeff Lounds in 2005: Molecule 01. Geza Schoen has radically influenced perfumery with his conceptual and minimalist approach, described as "the perfumery of the future".
