The 1980s Glam Rock by Hedi Slimane
#makeyourdressingapieceofart
- The Saint Laurent Women’s show took place in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Près in Paris, at the majestic Hotel de Sénecterre, a 17th-century building of which Hedi Slimane had overseen the renovation over a period of one-and-a-half years. The Hotel de Sénecterre has recently become the new couture salon for the house of Saint Laurent.
- The 2016 Winter Collection is Hedi Slimane’s twenty-third for Saint Laurent.
- 42 models showcased the Paris collection.
- There was no soundtrack accompanying the show; there was only Pierre Bergé announcing the arrival of the first model over the microphone, and Bénédicte de Ginestous announcing the number of each silhouette: "Numéro 42. Number 42."
- Hedi Slimane celebrates the Glam Rock of the 1980s: leather, sequins, lamé, fur, a profusion of knots and giant ruffles and wide shoulder pads but straight miniskirts or skirts suspended like tutus, with wide belts accentuating slim waists.
- Like an invitation to the nocturnal life, the next Saint Laurent collection is more for night birds rather than larks.
- "Back to Glam" makeup is precisely applied: black shadow on the eyes creates a spectacular play of dark lightness, color is extended to enlarge the eyes, a glowing red lacquered lip, a luminous complexion, and shiny, perfectly composed wet-look hair.
